Yesterday, I received an early "Christmas present" from artist Vince Dorse and I would be hard pressed to think of a better one! In this six minute video, Vince guides us through his process of creating his sculpture of Frankie Scarlatti.
It's remarkable to watch an artist's conception and creation of a character (that oneself has created from the bones and ligaments of memory, for the screen) come to life as a three dimensional work of art that astoundingly manages to convey his unique sense of wonder and peril.
It's also wonderful to realise, that slowly but surely, Frankie Scarlatti has become an iconic character among the conoscenti who hold the film dear.
